An investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a man from Hillsdale. Patrick Pastula, 64, was arrested January 8th, and has been arraigned.

The arrest came at the conclusion of an investigation into the online sharing of child sexually abusive material (CSAM) using peer-to-peer networks. The investigation led to Pastula’s home in Hillsdale. The MSP executed a search warrant this morning and seized multiple internet capable devices and other evidence. Pastula was interviewed, subsequently arrested and lodged at the Hillsdale County Jail.

Pastula has been charged with three counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity – distributing or promoting and one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material. At his arraignment, Pastula was issued a bond of $130,000.

If convicted, Pastula faces up to 25 years in prison for each charge of aggravated child sexually abusive activity – distributing or promoting and up to 10 years for the charge of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.
