Bonita W. Merillat, 84, of Fayette, died Tuesday afternoon, September 17, 2019, at University Toledo Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born October 27, 1934, in Pioneer, OH to Melvin and Geneva (Haas) Stantz.

She married the love of her life, Merrill on June 16, 1951, in Montpelier OH, and they shared 47 happy years of marriage. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1998.

Bonnie was a simple woman known for her kind, generous heart. She was member of Pioneer High School class of 1952, Fayette Nazarene Church, Montpelier Moose Chapter 270, Bean Creek Line Dancers, enjoyed line dancing and country music.

Bonnie loved being in the company of her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She never forgot a birthday and could be counted on to have cookies ready for their visits. She was happy to know that she would be a great-great grandmother in December.

Bonnie is survived by two sons, Darrell Merillat of Wauseon, OH and Michael (Karen) Merillat of Montpelier; OH; a daughter in-law, Penny Merillat of Fayette, OH; grandchildren, Wesley (Steffenie) Merillat, Jadea (Leo) Wixom, Mac Merillat, Abigail (Paul) Bieber, Sara (Evan) Atkinson, Nathan (Ashley) Merillat, Molly Merillat and Bradley (Amy) Merillat, Tasha (Jaret) Grove, Jeramie (Kayla) Harness and Cherish Brown; great grandchildren, Sierra (Luke) Boehm, Evan, Avah, and Casen Merillat, Madeleine, Ellie and Caite Wixom, Gage Merillat, Evelyn, Khail and Nolan Bieber, Graham and Fisher Atkinson, Braelyn and Raegan Merillat, Katherine and William Merillat, Jayden and Jaycea Craven, Jaron and Jayahna Grove, Noah, Chance and Dahlia Harness, Daphne and Dexter Hannaford.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Randy Merillat, sister, Junuetta Wallace and infant brother Arthur Stantz.

A funeral service for Bonnie will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette with Pastor Jeff Bandy officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until the time of service.
